Inverness & Point Reyes Station
I wanted to see how far I could get away from the city with a bus. Van Ness -> San Rafael -> Inverness was the route and we drove through mountains and redwoods until we reached the small town of Inverness. I looked at an old shipwreck behind the general store and then wandered around, visiting the post office and vacant restaurants. Point Reyes Station was more lively and had a town square underneath the feed barn. Men came under shouting hellos at one another, ordering coffee before riding away on their tractors. I rode the bus back with the same people who rode up with me. I wonder if they spend every day riding the bus back and forth into the wilderness.
